About Me

A speck of information about me is contained in this note. Right off the bat, I’ll tell you that there is a lot more to glean from the contents of the vault overall, but this is a solid starting point. An additional note that might be of interest is Personal Canon If you want to know more about these notes & why they’re public, read the Index.

Personality

I don’t often describe myself, so this will be an interesting exercise…

I tend to be quite happy & optimistic most of the time, & most people know me for always being in a good mood. Realistically speaking, I am disappointed & upset far more often than it might appear on the surface. This is balanced by my optimistic nature & outlook towards life. I do believe that, at the end of the day, things will work out they way they must. It’s in our hands to make the most out of what happens in our lives. Oftentimes, things don’t work out in the ways that we want it to, but wallowing & complaining won’t change that fact. Instead, it is much more productive & satisfying to feel the emotions that we need to feel & get ready to change what is in our control.

I often meander on points that others would argue are “a waste of time.” I also take things a little more serious than they’re intended to be taken. I see this happen all the time with my partner’s mom, who I greatly appreciate but can’t seem to fully figure out in terms of humor.

When it comes to getting things done, I’m usually excellent. I tend to be the type of person that lives by her calendar & her agenda. The exception to this comes whenever I am hit with bouts of depression, which sadly happens more often than I wish it did. I regret to share that I still haven’t found a solution to this problem, although I suspect that nootropics might be instrumental.

My humor tends to be quite stupid, if I’m being frank. The main communication vehicle that I use with my friends are sounds. Yes, sounds. My friends call me a soundboard. I’ll make all sorts of references to inside jokes, Vines, or I’ll make a bit on the spot & run it for far too long, but that detail is part of the bit itself. My favorite reaction is whenever they don’t understand that, so they don’t expect it.

Work

I am a military network infrastructure technician & have been for a little over three years now. It’s a relatively comfortable office job, where not much happens unless a tech refresh is needed. When that’s the case, work doesn’t seem to ever stop. In all honesty, it’s a very unsatisfactory job. More often than not I dread walking into that office because it’s so lifeless. “What are you doing to change that?” I’m currently a student at Western Governor’s University. I’m working on a Cloud & Network Engineering degree. My plan is to leave this job once I obtain that & then get hired to work remotely. My endgame is remote work, pretty much. So, while it would be nice to have that off the rip (& it’s what I’m looking for), I understand if I have to show up to work for a while to get there.

I have a very specific vision of what I want my work life to look like & I am not stopping until I succeed. It’s only a matter of time & effort. As I just mentioned, remote work is one of the biggest things I want out of a job, but there are [[my-dream-job-vision|other needs that I want met]].

Interests

I’m very big on Star Trek, although I’ve only watched the original series so far. My favorite movie is The Truman Show & my favorite music album ever… is still unknown to me. For now, I’ll say that it’s

Growing up I played way too much Terraria & still hold it dear. The last videogame I seriously played was Baldur’s Gate 3. I love that entire series. I don’t play videogames anymore, but still treasure the memories & the comfort they brought me as a teen.

Nowadays I spend a lot of time writing in Obsidian & reading in Zotero. What I read varies depending on what I’m into at any given time, but some fields I read about are pharmacology, technology, & Western esotericism.
